You may want to create a closed path in a non-transparent object, such as box or image, to make a "hole" in it.
1. | Disable snap to grid. |
2. | With the normal tool ![]() |
3. | On the Tools menu, point to Polygons and then click Start a sub-polygon or path, or press ALT+Ins to enter in the path mode. The pointer switches to the polygon tool ![]() |
4. | Repeat so, until you create all nodes you want. |
5. | Hover the pointer over the first node, and click to close the path, or simply press 8 - it will close the path, and create a "hole" in the object. If there's a colored background behind the object, it will become visible through the hole. |
To create multiple closed paths, e.g. as on the image below, just repeat the procedure. After you finished creating the first path, switch quickly on the normal tool , and then repeat the same procedure.
Notes:
•The new path is an integral part of the selected object. You can select it (use the polygon tool ), edit it (add, remove, or move nodes), you can move it, you can delete it, and you can invert it.
