Note: you can create or edit styles only if you have appropriate permissions on the parent typography. See Permissions on formats and styles for detailed information.

To create a style

1.Run the EdAdmin4, and then under Editorial Configuration, click Style Library.

2.Locate library to edit and then double-click it.

3.If the library already contains some styles, decide where you want to put the new style: to add the new style as last, click the first empty line of the list. to add the new style above any style, click to highlight that style.

4.Click New.

5.Select the style type: Paragraph, Character or Hidden.

6.In Style name, type the style name.

7.In Tag name, type the tag name of the new style.

8.In case you are creating a variable style, see Create a variable style.

9.If you are creating a paragraph style, do following:

Proceed to Define chaining of paragraph styles.

Continue with Define fitting of paragraph styles.

10. Proceed to Enter style tags, and then in the next step enter XML tags.

11. Click OK when done to close the style editing dialog box and save the style.

Note

Character styles are rendered in the XML only if they match an element in the schema – otherwise to render them you need to declare them as hidden styles, not a character styles (as >em<, >en< and >thin<).
