Selected page objects may be boxed "as a whole" (on the left) or "one-by-one" (on the right).
Boxing as a whole
When boxing "as a whole", a box is added as a separate object, enclosing selected items.
A box is typically added on the total area of selected objects, and the inner objects are shrunk for the amount of margin and border weight. The shrinking is anisotropic. Images, if present in the shape, are cropped and not scaled.
The special case is the outside boxing, or the boxing maintaining the headline height.
A box may be automatically grouped with the selected objects or not. This depends on your personal preference. If the boxed objects are not grouped, they may be moved, scaled or deleted independently, but it is recommended not to move them, as it may prevent unboxing.
You can specify margins (the distance between the box and inner objects), the boxing method, the color of border, the rule type and the color of the background.
Boxing individual frames
You can also box the separate frames one-by-one by setting the weight of their border in the Rules palette and adding the inner margins.
