You can box selected objects with an outside box. The outside box is placed outside of the selected area, thus the dimensions and positions of inner objects are not modified.
On boxed elements, Fred4 cannot safely distinguish the boxing type, i.e."outside boxing" (where the inner elements are not shrunk) from the "standard boxing" (where the inner elements are shrunk). Since the procedures of changing margins, weight, reboxing or unboxing, explained in this chapter, always assume that the standard boxing was applied, they are unsuitable for outside boxes. Simply delete the outside box if you don't need it anymore, or change it's weight or size.
To box with an outside box
1.Select all article frames and images. 2.On the Tools menu, point to Box, and then click Box and Unbox. 3.In the dialog box, under Preset, select one of factory presets. 4.To change predefined values for weight and margins, enter what you want in Weight, and margins boxes. 5.Select Outside box and then click OK. |
Select the box only, and then change the properties of the outside box, i.e. weight, color etc in the Area/Image Color palette, Rule/Dash palette and Rule Extra palette. Note: do not use the Box dialog to change values when boxed outside. |
Select and then delete the outside box. |
