Articles main tab preferences are applied on text editing in Ted4 or in Fred4, therefore to the Articles main tab and to the Pages main tab during editing of text.

To review or change text preferences, in Ted4 (or in Fred4, while editing text), on the Edit menu, click Preferences. The changed preferences are applied right on.  Please note that some preferences apply only on Ted4 and not on Fred4.
