Using table of contents in help

The simplest way to browse content in the help is by means of the Table of Contents (TOC).

GN4 Help is organized in chapters and topics. First-level chapters are also called "sections", and the "chapters" term is used for the 2nd and the lower levels. A section or chapter is displayed in the Table of Contents as a closed or open book icon. Double-click a closed book to review topics and sub-chapters. In local help, a section or chapter name is prefixed in the Table of Contents with a _plus sign. Click the sign to review topics and sub-chapters.

Most sections and chapters have a short introduction or a local table of contents.

To display the Table of Contents

The Table of Contents is displayed by default.

If the Table of Contents in the CHM help is collapsed, to display it click the Show icon on the top toolbar of the help window.

To synchronize the TOC with the current topic

If you have opened a topic using the index or full-text search features, or by browsing topics, you can determine where this topic is in the TOC by synchronizing the TOC with the topic window. In the local CHM help, click the Locate icon in the toolbar of the help viewer.

The synchronization in Web help is automatic.
