Installing GN4 help on your hard disk

When you install the GN4 help on your hard disk, it is available for reading also when you are offline or on the move. Moreover, the CHM help viewer displays the help faster than the Web help, and the keyword index works better.

The local copy of help, though, is not automatically updated. You need to update it by re-downloading it each now and then. See Downloading GN4 help for details.

To install the GN4 help on your hard disk

To install GN4 documentation as a local copy, download and copy the GN4.CHM file on all workstation in the same folder where the GN4 is installed.

This will enable context help (when pressing F1 key), and also allow an access to the table of contents, if the users double-click the file GN4.CHM in the folder, or through a shortcut.

You may also want to add a shortcut to the GN4.CHM file to the Start menu, or to the GN4 menu (if created).

To install the GN4 help on a Web server

See Configuring GN4 to use help from Web server.

Note

If your downloaded CHM file won't show any content, displaying an error instead, unlock it (Properties > Unlock).
