The status bar of the Pages main tab in Fred4 is context sensitive and displays various information. The status bar is not configurable (thus you cannot choose what to display and in which order). The fields width is proportionally scaled with the main window, so all of them are displayed even when the main window width is narrow. You cannot turn off the status bar.
The status bar changes when no page is loaded, while loading pages, when editing page, and when editing text on page.
When no page is loaded
The status bar is empty.
While loading page(s)
The left side of the status bar shows the progress bar and the information about what's being loaded.

Description of fields
1.The current zoom level.
2.The X/Y co-ordinates of the pointer and/or of the shape being drawn and its W/H dimensions .
The X/Y value depends on the status of the snap to grid. If snap to grid is disabled it shows the real position, otherwise it shows the position of the closest guide/grid step. The co-ordinates are expressed in the personal measurement units, rounded to the closest integer. The reading also depends on the Snapping tolerance value (Edit > Preferences > Grid). If the value is 0, the horizontal position is read only when pointer touches a column guide; the vertical position is read only when pointer reaches a module guide). If the value is non zero, the readings depend on the zoom level - closest zoom gives more precision.
While drawing a shape, the field displays the X, Y of the shape in the first parenthesis and W, H of the shape in the second parenthesis:
When snap to grid is disabled: The displayed values the position of cursor relative to the zero-point (origin of the page grid). When snap to grid is enabled The displayed values reflect the position of the closest guide or nudge. Example 1: the position of first two vertical guides is 0 and 92pt, and the horizontal nudge is 0, then the horizontal position is shown as 0 until you reach the half of distance between the guides, and then it switches to 92pt. Example 2: the position of first two horizontal guides (module guides) is 0 and 50 pts, and the vertical nudge is 10pt, then the values of vertical position while you move the pointer from the top margin down to the first module guide reads 0, 10, 20, 30, 40pt, and when the pointer reaches the first module guide, it turns to 50pt. |

Fixes in version 1.5
•The status bar area now handles multiple windows correctly and also no longer displays the recover document message when opening more than one windows.
•Article path was not correctly handled if the folder does not have permission. "Unknown folder" is shown instead of "null" when user has no read permission on the article folder.
