You can protect page layout against editing in various ways.

Protecting page layout by sections and zones permissions

It represents an absolute protection. The users need appropriate permissions to view, or edit pages and content on pages. See Pages permissions (based on sections and zones permissions)

Protecting page layout based on locking layers

You can protect a page against editing in the following way:

1.Select all objects and page elements on the page, and then protect them as explained in Protecting Objects, Articles and Text.

2.Lock all layers of the page as explained in Locking layers.

On such page, no user can edit anything. In order to edit such page, user have to unlock layers first, and then unlock objects and page elements. Only users with lock level which is equal or greater than the level with which the items were protected, can perform unprotecting.
