Locking and Unlocking Page Content

You may want to protect page elements against accidental modification by yourself, or to prevent other users to edit those elements even when a page is not in use by you.

You can protect page objects and/or content (text and images).

PROTECTED PAGE OBJECTS

Protected page objects (frames, boxes, rules, etc.) cannot be scaled, moved, deleted nor edited (e.g. changing color, weight) etc.

Note: when you lock a text frame, other users will still be able to edit linked or local text.

PROTECTED CONTENT

The content of protected texts cannot be edited in Fred4 and in Ted4.

The protected images cannot be replaced by Back4- if you drop the same image again in the Back4, it won't be replaced.

About locking

Only the users that have the 'lock level' different than 0 may lock items. When a user locks an object only a user with a lock level greater or equal to it can unlock it.  The lock level, for a GN4 work group or individual users, is set in the EdAdmin4. The lock level range is from 0 (disabled) to 254 (the highest).
