IMPORTANT: PERFORM IMPORT STEPS IN THE SAME ORDER AS LISTED IN THIS CHAPTER.
For this step, it is assumed you already imported the typography, font layouts, fonts, hyphenations, libraries and formats, titles, workstates, edition numbers, layer types, geometry presets, groups, users, zones, regions, sections, folders, masters, category sets, object libraries, and GlobalConfig.
This topic describes the command line to import library objects exported from GN3 database:
c:\Tera\gn4\bin\srv4 import -in libs.libObj.xml -opt C:\gn3-2-gn4\GN3Change.xsl
Note
•It is assumed you have the folder C:\gn3-2-gn4\ and that is contains the specified XSL style sheet.
•It is assumed the libs.libObj.xml was previously exported from GN3 as explained in Export object libraries.
•It is assumed that you execute this command on the GN4 IIS server, and in the folder where the exported files are stored.
•It is assumed that srv4.exe is available on the specified path.
•If the library objects contain images, you need to provide the same drive mounted as it was in GN3, e.g. if the picture file in GN3 was located in W:\foldername, then the GN4 server where you're importing must mount the same path as W:\foldername.
•If the library objects contain auto-tools with GN3 formats specified, before importing them, make sure the files are adjusted as explained in About exporting auto-tool in object libraries.
