1.Run Fred4, and then on the Pages main tab, open the page where you want to copy the articles from another page.

2.On the Layers palette, check-out the list of its layers.

3.On the Pages navigator, display the source edition and then locate the source page

4.Hold CTRL, or SHIFT+CTRL, drag the source page over the target page in Fred4.
Note: CTRL perform the copy without prompting you to replace the layers, while SHIFT+CTRL prompts you what to do. If you drag without pressing any key, the dragged page is simply opened.

5.When prompted with the message "Do you want to delete all current page's layers before adding dropped page's layers", select what you want. If you select No, the new layers are added to the current page, and the existing layers remain unchanged. Note: you can customize the message and the default button. See OnDrop function in Page.vb.

6.If you held SHIFT+CTRL, Fred4 prompts you to select, rename or move the articles in another folder. In the Articles Copy dialog box do one or more of the following:

Automatically adjust names of copied articles

Manually change names of copied articles

Select another folder for article duplicates

Exclude some articles of being copied

Notes

The Article Copy dialog box may not appear if you do not hold SHIFT+CTRL pressed while dragging the page, or the global variable glbAlwaysShowCopyPageDlg is not set to True in your EditorialConfig. If dialog box does not appear, only the matched layers will be deleted.

The prompt of replacing layers appear only if you hold SHIFT+CTRL pressed and if the target layer contains at least one object.
