This is the most frequent use of APM. It processes all the pages marked with the same APM category as the current page, opening the pages as needed. If the Randomize pages is not ticked, the pages are ordered by page number and processed.

To run APM on all the pages of the specific category

To run the automated page make up (APM) on all the pages of the given category (including the ones that are not yet open), open at least one page of that category, and then do one of the following:

To run the automated page make-up with one click, click the APM icon in the main toolbar.

The software auto-detects the edition, page section and category from the opened page, and then starts the automated page make-up using the scope as defined in the current preferences and/or as updated in the last APM run by the APM dialog box. Note: as the scope settings may be different than expected, you may want to review them by displaying the APM dialog box first (see the next paragraph).

To run the APM with reviewing the pagination scope, category, the folder, the action and the libraries prefix before starting the automated page make-up, do one of the following:

oRight-click the APM icon in the main toolbar, and then click the Run Automated Page Make-up command to display the APM dialog box.

oOn the main menu, click Auto-paginate menu, click Run Automated Page Make-up, to display the APM dialog box.

The recommended settings on the APM dialog box

Only Opened Pages: not ticked

Only Current Page: not ticked

Only Selected Articles: not ticked

Categories: as detected from the current page

Paginate From: as detected from the current page

Action: Make-up Pages

Notes

The APM dialog box is automatically populated with the auto-detected values (the edition, page section and category) from the current page in editing, while the status of scope check-boxes is inherited from the last used setting (the same as in the current preferences and in the last run).

When you click OK, Fred will start the selected action on the pages as defined by the status of the Only Opened Pages and Only Current Page, using the settings as defined in the current preferences.
