APM object libraries prerequisites

There are the following prerequisites, related to APM object libraries:

You need to have one, and not more than one APM object library for each editorial hole. IMPORTANT: if you create more object libraries for a given editorial hole, only the first one created will be used, and all other libraries for the same editorial hole will be ignored.

The library must contain enough objects to cover all required pages without too many repetitions. Example: you are preparing the APM object library for the horizontal split pages where the editorial hole is 750 pt x 460 pt. The first thing to take into the consideration is: which is the maximum number of such pages in an ads plan? Let's say you can expect not more than 12 such pages in any section, designated for the APM. Thus, you need to prepare at least 12 library objects. If the number of such pages is unpredictable, the safest (although pretty expendable) way would be to have as many objects as it is the maximum total number of pages in the section (this assumes that all the pages will have the same horizontal split, which is very unlikely - but, just in case!).

See How many object libraries you need? in order to plan your preparation.

The total area of all the objects in an APM object library must be the precisely the same.

As page layouts are tied to the APM category, therefore, the News section would probably have different page layout of the Sports section, assign the specific APM category to the object libraries. See Preparing APM categories.

Name the APM object libraries so you can quickly identify them. See About naming of the object libraries for the automated page make-up.
