There might be many reasons for a general malfunctioning of a GN4 on a client computer. This topic does not pretend to cover them all - it just gives you some basic hints, worthwhile to try before starting to dig deeper.
.First of all, it may be worthwhile to perform all checks explained in Steps for general malfunctioning of GN4.
.Read topics GN4 does not start, GN4 may hang when... and GN4 may crash when... and see if any of described situations apply to yours. If there's an exception, try to understand it. If the problem is access permissions to volumes, resolve it as explained in Ted4/Fred4 crash on startup because of access denied to a volume.
.Read the Resolving Urgent Impact Problems chapter and see if the listed applies to your case. If so, apply the suggested steps.
.Read the release notes, related to your version or newer versions: it may be a known issue, fixed in the meantime.
.If the above didn't help, consider to reboot the client computer - just in case.
.If this does not help, consider deleting Framework temporary files from your computer.
.If this does not help, consider reinstalling GN4 on your client computer, using - of course - the same version and build as installed on server.
.If this does not help, consider reinstalling Framework - sometimes it may help.
.If this does not help, consider reinstalling Microsoft Windows OS.
