Create additional ruler guides on layer

You can add additional guides, one-by-one, on a layer. The procedure is different than the one described in Create/modify standard set of ruler guides on layer, and it is more suitable when you need to add just one or two layers on arbitrary positions.

1.Open a page.

2.Double-click the layer name in the Layers palette (to target the layer).

3.If the page guides are not displayed, on the View menu, click Guides.

4.On the Layout menu, ensure that Lock local guides is not ticked.

1.Click the vertical guide icon fred_vguideico or the horizontal guide icon fred_hguideico in the Toolbox.

2.Move the pointer over the page. A thin black rule will follow the pointer.

3.Click to drop the guide on the page.

Notes

Do not attempt to place a guide on the pasteboard - it won't work. Keep guides within page zone.

You cannot select the color for the additional guides on a layer - they are displayed in the same color as the main guides set.
