All the wires normally enter in the GN4 system as files through the BACK4 queues that, by means of workflows, convert wire text in an appropriate way, and/or parse metadata in wire images and multimedia and store it in the database, creating also all required display previews.
The following operations on wires are available:
•Browsing: you can browse wires in wire folders.
•Searching: you search for wire stories or wire images, and then review the content in various formats (See Searching for stories, Searching for images and Searching for multimedia).
•Sending: you link wires to collections.
•Slugging: you attach one or more wires in an article.
•Printing: you print selected wires.
•Archiving: you archive selected wires in the specified zone of the GN4 archive.
•Deleting: you delete wires you don't need anymore. Deleted wires can be recovered unless purged in the meantime.
•Purging: after specified amount of time, GN4 system purges deleted wires from database.
