GN4 supports publishing of the content on multiple channels: print edition, Web pages, Web editions, digital editions, newsreaders, mail, SMS etc, in other words, "create and edit once, use many times".
To publish to a print channel, GN4 offers Fred4 or Adobe InDesign.
To publish on Web, we use VirtualCom (that creates also Web editions and digital editions) or GNWeb CMS as the most complete solution, but we integrate, to a different extent also the other CMS, such as Drupal, Joomla/Wordpress and others.
To publish to newsreaders, GN4 users GNXpedio, while to publish to mail, SMS and other channels, GN4 integrates solutions available on market.
Often, you may want to publish exactly the same content on all channels. This is the default way how GN4 works. Of course, there may be exceptions. For example, you may want to publish longer text on Web than in the print edition. So you can do it by routing parts of text only to Web edition, or to route parts of text only to print edition. You may want to have a different headline or body on the Web than in the print edition. You can do so by adding a channel specific content in separate article elements, or exclude content from one or more channels. See also About channel specific content.
Publishing destinations
GN4 uses "publishing destinations" to publish and transform content. A publishing destination is a Web page or any other type of publishing channel, or an export destination where the content gets automatically transformed. See About publishing destinations.
You can publish content from GN4 browser, Ted4 or Fred4. The publish can be instantaneous, or scheduled.
Syndicating and exporting data
You can export GN4 data (articles and other content) to specific publishing destinations, where the content gets automatically transformed in desired format.
