Before you start to create the permanent colors set, have in mind the following:
•Permanent colors are global for all the editions, all the pages and all text in all titles assigned to the same typography. If you change a permanent color, it changes on all places where it was used, also in old editions. Use quick colors to create local, temporary colors just for one page or text.
•Permanent colors appear in the color table in the order you create them, but you can change that order manually, by dragging colors where you want in the Color editor in Fred4 or in EdAdmin4.
•Quick colors do not appear in the color table, and they appear in the color palettes in Fred4 only while the object painted with the specific quick color is selected, or after it was selected while you stay on the same page. If you switch to another page, the color disappears from the palette. A quick color appears in the color palette during text editing (in Ted4, or in Fred4), only while the cursor is in the part painted with that color.
•Look at the Color names topic before starting to name or rename permanent colors.
•The colors can be previewed in text and on pages, and when creating styles by means of the Text button.
•Don't expect that R=100 G=100 B=0 gives the same result as C=0 M=0 Y=100 K=0. Actually, R=100 G=100 B=0 gives C=3 M=0 Y=93 K=0 and C=0 M=0 Y=100 K=0 gives R=97 G=94 B=0. It is recommended to use the CMYK percentage to create colors rather than RGB. It is recommended, anyway, to associate an appropriate color profile to the color table for better CMYK to RGB conversion.
