The names of permanent colors are all user defined, except four basic colors which reserved and mandatory names are C, M, Y and K. The names quick colors are automatically created as a combination of components, e.g #m72y60k28.

About names uniqueness

You can create more permanent colors with the same name, but it is not recommended to do so as this may lead to confusion.

About spaces in names

The permanent color names can contain spaces, but we recommend you to avoid it, when possible. The color names with spaces must be enclosed in delimiters when specified as parameters of GNML tags, e.g.

>co Blue< but >co !Navy Blue!< or >co "Navy Blue"< and >co !#1!< in variable styles.

About case sensitivity

The color names are not case sensitive, thus >co blue< and >co Blue< are considered as same.

About renaming existing colors

Before changing names of existing colors, look at the Renaming colors paragraph of the Editing, deleting and renaming colors topic.
