Use the toolbar with six icons. Every icon corresponds to an element: kicker, head, subhead, intro, pullquote, image (from left).

The schema settings define how many elements of a kind an article may have. A standard schema defines that an article can have one headline, one kicker, one subhead, but more pull quotes and images.
Let's assume you want to add elements to this simple article with a headline frame and three body legs.

Select the headline frame above which you want to add a kicker, and then click Add kicker icon. When prompted for the format and number of lines, select what you want. The headline frame moves down to make space for the kicker frame. The body frames are shortened, so the total area, covered by the article, remains the same.

Select the headline frame below which you want to add a subhead, and then click Add subhead icon. When prompted for the format and number of lines, select what you want. The body frames move down and are shortened to make space for the subhead frame.

|
Select the body frames above which you want to add an intro. Eg., if you want the intro to be left aligned and one column wide, select the leftmost body frame. In our example, we selected two body frames, to get intro over two columns. Click the Add intro icon. When prompted for the format and number of lines, select what you want. The intro frame is placed above body frames and wraps their shapes.

|
Select the body frames inside which you want to add a pull quote. Eg., if you want the pull quote to be over one column, select the body frame you want. Click the Add pull quote icon. When prompted for the format and number of lines, select what you want. The pull quote frame is placed above body frame and wraps its shapes.

Select the body frames above which you want to add a image:

Click the Add image icon and a dummy image and a caption frame are added and linked automatically to the article. Then, scale the image at will.

If you repeat the operation, another image is added:
