Default geometry and presets

The preset geometry is set of predefined page format information, created during the publication setup. Its purpose is to facilitate the creation of new edition templates from scratch, by selected designated set of coherent settings.

It gets applied in a new, unsaved editions, on all master pages, one-by-one.

Important: edit and set the default geometry as soon as you create a new edition from scratch, and before you add pages to the new edition. Once the pages are created, it is too late to change the default geometry: it would be active then only on new master pages, not on the existing ones.

Use EdAdmin4 > Editorial Configuration > Geometry to review, create and modify presets.

For the procedure of selecting presets, or modifying them locally, see Set master page dimensions and format in the Creating Editions or Templates from Scratch chapter.
