This chapter introduces you to the paper editions and templates in GN4. Note: for the Web editions, look at Digital Publishing.

It describes the basic concepts of editions and templates, including organizing, working with multiple publications/titles, deadline, sections, masters and ads. It describes how to create editions, templates and pages, add, move or remove pages, save, export and import, copying pages and layers, sharing layers among pages, and deleting and recovering procedures.

You will manage the editions and the edition templates in Fred4, on the Editions main tab.

Note: this chapter contains topics related to pages only in the part that is handled on the Editions main tab, therefore creating, sharing, moving, deleting and so on. For the information about opening and designing pages, see the Pages chapter. For the information about page layout (geometry, grid, guides etc.) see the Layout chapter.
