More than one user can work at the same time on the same content, e.g. the same article or the same page or the same set of metadata. GN4 provides for automatic locking of edited items.

When you start to edit an item, it gets automatically locked against editing by other users. Other users still can see the last saved changes (a refresh may be required). When you end to edit an item, the lock is automatically removed.

If the software unexpectedly closes (crash), the lock may remain in place and the content needs to be "recovered" to allow further editing.
