THE SOLUTION |
COMMENT |
Typing is slower than you want, on long stories, or long paragraphs. |
Switch to Ted4, hide the WYSIWYG pane, and disable interactive justification. |
The text justification in Fred has hard time to justify long stories. |
Typing is slow when editing text on page with slowdown sometimes of 5-7 seconds. |
Disable automatic alerting as explained in Enable/disable receiving of automatic alerts in Ted4 or Fred4 |
Tera is looking to how minimize the impact of alerts on the frequently used operations. |
Text is blinking in source window when typing quickly. |
To reduce blinking, turn off the Display spell check errors in the source window option. |
The "refreshing" on each letter typed affected entire paragraph, i.e. all lines above and below the current position. Other paragraphs, above or below the current one are not affected. |
Protect mode does not work |
Tags are displayed. Hide tags and retry. |

When using "big points", the rounding error in Fred4 may cause the text frame height to miss 1 or 2mpts, and therefore to drop the last line of text, although it looks like there's enough space. |
The solution is to slightly reduce the starting offset of grid in the format. For example, if the grid value is 9.8pt, put it as 9.799pt or 9.798pt. |
The visual impact is null, as it's not possible to notice a 2mpt shift, and it would be enough for the last text line to fit the frame. |
