Add a byline in the body text

Build 1501 on 14/Nov/2017  This topic last edited on: 27/Oct/2016, at 10:38

GN4 supports inline multiline bylines (in body text). The inline bylines may flow in a separate frame or in the first body frame. Use the first body frame if the byline flows on the beginning of the body text in the same width as the body text. Use a separate frame for bylines that flow over multiple columns or with different width, or in any other different position of the body top. Use CTRL+RETURN to force the column jump for the body text under the byline.

Manual byline

Type the appropriate content (name, surname etc) and then apply the appropriate paragraph style (see Apply/remove paragraph style).

Automatic byline

To add an automatic byline, on the Formatting toolbar, click the byline icon to display a menu with choices of predefined bylines.

The menu is displayed, containing two sample bylines, and the command to remove them if present in text:

autobyline2

If the text already contains a byline, it is replaced with the selected byline. In the pop-up menu, select Remove to remove the byline for text.

Note: from version 1.6. 1930.x, the insertion of the byline is smarter, and it will insert the name of the user who created the article, and not of the current user.
