Paragraph defaults are set in a GN4 format. These defaults are applied on the unformatted parts of text to which is assigned that format.
The default settings specified here may be superseded in the text by any style that contains appropriate GNML tags, by typing the tags directly in the text, or by changing them through the Paragraph dialoge box.

It is recommended to set the default starting indent to whatever is most common for the purpose of that format, e.g. 6pt or similar. Used for the column width of unlinked texts to which is assigned that format. The default value is 240pt. The hard-coded default value of 240pt is probably unsuitable. In a linked text, this setting is ignored and the width of the linked frame is used instead. |
Used for the justification of the line in which the user presses <SHIFT+8> to insert a new line. The default value of the check box "Use with end line" is not selected. This means that the line, with the end-line sign will be "justified" if the entire paragraph is "justified".The hard-coded default value is not recommended. Select the box. The default value is "justified" for all lines except the last one. "left" for the last lines.
