Creation table dialog box consists of several sections, displayed in the tree.
In the Columns box, enter the initial number of columns. Later you can add more columns or delete some of them. In the Rows box, enter the initial number of rows. Later you can add more rows or delete some of them. In the Name box, you can enter the table name. This can be used by XML export. In Margins, enter the left and right margin for the entire table. Note: these are table indents, not the cell indents. If you set 6pt of left indent, the entire table is indented left for 6pt Select Reset preceding table properties to keep the table independent of eventual previous tables, where such global parameters may be set differently. Select Draw horizontal rules inside cells to ensure that fill of rows won't cover the horizontal rules. It is recommended to select this check box when you are dealing with the filled rows. Select Remove top leading to facilitate vertical alignment in cells. See Remove top leading setting for further details. |
Select Table borders in the tree to set more borders at once. Use Top, Bottom, Left and Right check-boxes to select the borders to set/change. If you select them all, then all borders are set at once. Use Weight, Color, Tint and Dash boxes to select what you want. Notes: •If Weight is 0, other values are ignored. •To differentiate the borders, use the Top, Bottom, Left and Right sub-sections, and then set what you want. •As soon as you change something in a sub-section, making it different than the settings in the main Table borders section, the check-box of that section turns to gray, reminding you that the sub-section values are different. Click twice the check-box to turn re-apply the main values to the sub-section. |

It contains three sub-sections: Rules, Margins and Fill and Justification. Rules sub-section of Rows Select Rules section in the tree to set rules under first, even, last and odd rows at once. Use First, Last, Even and Odd check-boxes to select the rules to set/change. If you select them all, then rules for all types of table rows are set at once. Use Weight, Color, Tint and Dash boxes to select what you want. The same notes apply as for Table borders section. Margins and Fill sub-section of Rows Set margins and rows fill under first, even, last and odd rows at once. Use Top, Bottom, Left and Right check-boxes to select the rules to set/change. If you select them all, then all margins and fill are set at once. Use Fill color and Tintto select what you want. Select First, Last, Odd, or Even item in the tree to variate rules for given rows. Justification sub-section of Rows Select Justification section in the tree to set rows justification for first, even, last and odd rows at once. Use Position, Above/Below, Step, Row stretch and Row shrink to set what you want. Use First, Last, Even and Odd check-boxes to select the row to set/change. If you select them all, then justification for all rows is set at once. Use the Row stretch box to specify how much the row can grow if the table frame is higher than the sum of all row heights. Use the Row shrink box to specify how much the row height can be reduced if the table frame is not high enough to accommodate all rows. |
