The procedure to begin and to end editing of article elements depends on the way you opened the article, and on which main tab.
To begin editing of body text when opening article Open an article in read-write mode (default). The body text may automatically open in the source pane in editing (this is handled in the OnArticleOpen method in Article.vb), and it's subject of the personal preference (Edit > Preferences > Extra > Reopen body). To begin editing of an article element in the source pane Open the article and then double-click the element name in the article tree. To begin editing of an article element in the WYSIWYG pane Click inside of element on the WYSIWYG pane. To begin editing of all article elements Right-click the article name in the article tree, and then select Open all Elements. To end editing of an open article element, do one of the following: See End element editing in source pane (Articles main tab) and End element editing in WYSIWYG pane (Articles main tab) To end editing of all open article elements Right-click the article name in the article tree, and then select Close and Save all Open Elements. If you opened an article in the read-write mode (default): As soon as you open the source pane, or you click in an element in the WYSIWYG pane, or use keys to select and edit an article element, at the same time you've initiated the editing of the selected element. The element is locked by you and other users cannot edit it neither in Ted4, nor if Fred4 (if linked to a page). To end editing, see End element editing in source pane and End element editing in WYSIWYG pane. If you opened an article in Ted4 in the read-only mode It is not possible to edit any element of the article opened in the read-only mode. The label read-only is shown in the status bar. |
To edit text on page Double-click any linked frame of the article element, or a local frame (if the text is not linked) To edit text in sidebar source window Select any linked frame of the article element, or a local frame (if the text is not linked), and then press Spacebar. To edit text in sidebar source window when you already editing it on page Press SHIFT+Spacebar. To end editing, do one of the following: Press the Escape key (it will save changes). Click anywhere on the empty space of page. |
