Set the preferences and get the configuration parameters

The same edition preferences that are setup for the manual import must be set also for the background import but they must belong to the Administrator user. Hence, to set-up those preferences the user will have to log-in as administrator. This is necessary since Back4 uses the administrator account to read the preferences.

See Define correct names for layers and set the lock level. Please note that the preferences in this case regard the Administrator user.

Once the preferences have been set, open an edition and select the entry “Beacon XML import” from the Ads menu.

The following dialog will appear:

Select the appropriate options (Pages and ads on the Source tab and Assign masters from XML are mandatory for the back4 import), be sure that a folder is specified in “Ads folder” in the Ads tab.

If the import of workstate is allowed, remember to set a list of “workstate to keep”. The list is used in case the Ads plan is re-imported and some of the GN4 pages has been worked already. Some of the GN4 pages might have one of the workstate in the list. In this case the GN4 page workstate is retained. This option also works in the manual import.

When all options have been set press the button “Show Options as Back4 string parameter”.

The following will appear:

Select all parameters and copy it with CTRL-C.
The import configuration parameters must be pasted into the back4 dataSource.
