The background import of plans from Beacon via Back4 has been implemented to satisfy the need of an automatic and unattended update of the ads layer while the pages are been worked on.

The functionality is the same of the manual import and, basically, the background import does the following:

•Creates a new edition from a template when the edition does not exist

•Updates the ads layers of existing editions

The background import via Back4 is only available in build 2.2.x or newer.

It consists of a new workflow named wf_beacon.xml, a new dataSourceTemplate named dataSrcTemplate_Beacon.xml and some code enhancement that provide to the import workflow activity the same level of functionality of the manual import from Fred.
