With the normal tool select one or more objects, and then drag a selection handle in the desired direction.
Isotropic/anisotropic scaling (keeping or ignoring object's aspect)
On images, dummy images and ellipses, if you drag for corner handles, the scaling is isotropic. ie. it maintains the object aspect.
For frames and boxes, no matter which handle you drag, scaling is always anisotropic and it is not possible to force it to keep the aspect.
Note: You can press and hold the Spacebar key, to scale dummy images without maintaining their aspect. Please note that if you assigned Spacebar to open a text editing window to edit text, such shortcut can collide with the built-in shortcut key for free scaling of dummy and placeholder images. The only way to avoid it is not to use the Spacebar to start text editing.
