Configure personal preferences for increments

Build 1501 on 14/Nov/2017  This topic last edited on: 17/Mar/2016, at 17:08

In version 1.5.1734.x or newer you can set the personal preferences for increments (step-by-step adjustments of formatting, e.g. type size, leading etc as described in Adjust formatting by keyboard, step-by-step), or you can decide to use the global ones.

As soon as you access to the Increments tab in the personal preferences (Edit > Preferences) for the first time, the values are set to the same values as in global preferences.

You have several choices:

Select Use global settings for increments... to use default steps values (the same as the hard-coded settings in versions prior to 1.5.1733.x). This overrides all personal preferences related to increments.

Enter the values you want to use as your personal preferences. In all fields (except Tracking and Spcband) enter a valid measurement value, e.g. 1pt, or 0.4pt or similar. In Tracking and Spcband fields enter a value in 1/1000th of EM-space, e.g. 50 (stands for 50/1000 EM-space). Note: if you enter the same value as the default one, the entry turns into "auto". For the values of default preferences, see global preferences.

Enter auto in a field of your choice to use the global value for that field.

To configure increments on the global level, see Configure increments for step-by-step formatting adjustments.

In version 1.5.1733.x or previous

The steps for each adjustment are hard-coded in the ChangeMode script, and listed in the "Description of available step-by-step adjustments" paragraph.

To modify the step of given adjustment, copy the entire ChangeMode function from the Article.vb to the CustomArticle.vb and then there modify what you want.
