The purpose of this library object is that you can draw a simple shape on the page, e.g. a frame, in any dimension, and then drag the library object over the frame - it will be replaced with the library object, maintaining the height of the headline and scaling the body columns as required. The number of columns remain as in the library object, but you can resplit them later.
To create a head and body "smart resize" library object
1.Create a new empty object in a library. If the library grid is not what you expected, see About page grid in library windows for the procedure on how to adjust it.
2.In the library window, press H and then create a shape of head and body in the required size, starting from the top-left corner.
3.Adjust the headline height as explained in Scale articles or complex objects and Scale headline vertically with auto-shift.
4.Select the body columns and then press 1-9 to resplit them in the desired number of columns.
5.On the Window > Palettes, select Tool.
6.Select the headline frame, set the values as stated in the following paragraphs and then click the green confirmation icon.
Values:
•The height of the headline frame is set to Fixed. This is important if you are using the library object to replace existing shapes on page.
•The X-horizontal position and Y-vertical position are set to Proportional.
7.Select the body frames, set the values as stated in the following paragraph and then click the green confirmation icon.
Values:
•The Y-vertical position of the body frames is set to Absolute from top left.
•The X-horizontal position is set to Proportional.
8.Save the changes and then close the library window.
Notes
•This object will be automatically sized to the selection, when replacing a selected object(s) on a page. The headline height will be kept as is.
•This object will not perform any other additional action.
