Install downloaded prerequisites on a GN4 server

Prerequisite

SQL server

Run the installer and follow instructions on screen. Write down the instance name (if any) and the authentication mode, as you will need it later on.

•Version 2.3 or newer: Microsoft .NET FrameWork 4.6.1

•Version 2.0 or newer: Microsoft .NET FrameWork 4.5.1

•Version 1.6: Microsoft .NET FrameWork 4.5 or 4.0

Run the installer and follow instructions on screen.

WSE is not needed for the version 2.1 or newer.

Web Service Enhancements (WSE) 2.0 SP3 for Microsoft .NET Redistributable Runtime.

Note: this might be not needed on W7, W8 and Microsoft Windows 2012 R2 server.

Note: WSE is not needed for the version 2.1 or newer.

Run the installer and follow instructions on screen. Select Runtime when prompted.

WSE is not needed for the version 2.1 or newer.

Web Service Enhancements (WSE) 3.0 for Microsoft .NET Redistributable Runtime.

Note: if on Windows server 2012 you get errors when starting i4 such as Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Web.Services3, Version=3.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified., you may need to install also .NET 3.5.

Visual Studio Redistributable Runtime

Run the installer and follow instructions on screen.

For version 2.3 or newer

Visual Studio Community Edition 2015 (freeware) or Visual Studio Express Edition (freeware) with NET 4.6.1 DEV pack

For version 2.2

To be able to compile the version 2.2. add-ins, download and install the Visual Studio Express 2013 (freeware) and the .NET Framework 4.5.2 multi-targetting pack (382Mb). Visual Studio Express 2013 will prompt you on the first access to download it. The link is https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42637.

For builds 2081 or newer:

For builds 1386 or newer:

Visual Studio Express 2012 (freeware)

For builds 1180 till 1385:

Run the installer and follow instructions on screen.

Note: if you have Visual Studio installed, you may use that one instead of Visual Studio Express.

For Solr versions

Download and install Solr and Stanbol.

For versions pre-Solr

Exalead  (only for GN4 and Tark4 install) and only if you don't want to use the SQL full-text search.
