For GN4 version 2.2

To be able to compile the version 2.2. add-ins, download and install the .NET Framework 4.5.2 multi-targetting pack (382Mb). Visual Studio Express 2013 will prompt you on the first access to download it. The link is https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42637.

For GN4 build 2081 and newer

Download Visual Studio Express 2013 from the Microsoft Web site (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40787.

Install it on your computer following the default procedure.

Note about Windows 8: you may want to download Visual Studio Express 2013 for Windows Desktop. This allows you to use it as a "normal" Windows application.

Note about the default path: the path where you can find the Visual Studio Express 2013 executable file (if you need to assign it to your projects and XML files) is (on the 64-bit computers):

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0\Common7\IDE\WDExpress.exe

For GN4 build 1368 and newer

Download Visual Studio Express 2012 from the Microsoft Web site (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34673).

Install it on your computer following the default procedure.

Note about Windows 8: you may want to download Visual Studio Express 2012 for Windows Desktop. This allows you to use it as a "normal" Windows application.

Note about the default path: the path where you can find the Visual Studio Express 2012 executable file (if you need to assign it to your projects and XML files) is (on the 64-bit computers):

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\WDExpress.exe

For GN4 builds prior to 1368

Download Visual Studio Express 2010 from the Microsoft Web site (http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/eng/downloads#d-2010-express).

Install it on your computer following the default procedure.

General note

Do not use other versions of Visual Studio Express unless instructed to do so.
