Autocorrect and Autocomplete functions in Ted4 and Fred4 allows you to:

•Correct automatically misspelled words (if they're found in the autocorrection lists (global or personal).

•Add words to be automatically corrected to the global or to the personal autocorrection list.

•Expand automatically (autocomplete) entries that are in the autocorrection list, e.g. you type EC and the software replaces it with European Community.

What GN4 Autocorrect and Autocomplete function won't do?

GN4 Autocorrect function is not able to:

•Correct words with two initial capitals (e.g. to replace EXample with Example).

•Correct words with accidental use of caps lock (e.g. to replace eXAMPLE with Example)

•Correct multiple consecutive words e.g. don ot with do not.

About configuring Autocorrect function

Autocorrect function in GN4 needs to be configured before use.

The best practice is to create a XML file with list of global autocorrection entries, and import them in the database as explained in Import global autocorrection list. You can update such list at any time, by editing the file and reimporting it in the database. An example of the ready-to-be-imported US autocorrect list is available in Autocorrect list for English US.

Every user can type personal corrections (as explained in Add a personal autocorrection entry), edit them or remove them, without affecting other users ( Edit a personal autocorrection entry and Delete a personal autocorrection entry). Personal corrections can be also imported from a file (Import personal autocorrection list from file), or removed all at once (Remove personal autocorrection list).
