Normal tool 182_cursor_16

Use the normal tool 182_cursor_16 to select an entire page object or more page objects.

Click inside the object (even if the object is hollow) to select it. The bounding box makes it possible to quickly move, duplicate, and scale the object without having to use any other tool. For paths, the bounding box makes it easy to work with an entire object without accidentally altering the anchor points that determine its shape. When you select one or more objects with the normal tool 182_cursor_16, you see a bounding box that indicates the size of each object. If you don't see a bounding box when an object is selected, you may have selected the object using the polygon tool 15_polygon_16.

Note: if you clicked a frame, and the alternate selection is active, the selection regards the content of the frame, not the frame as container.

CTRL+click: select an underlying object.

SHIFT+click when something is selected, adds the clicked object to the selection. In version 2.2 or newer: the selecting of overlapping objects is improved. In version 1.5 or newer: When nothing is selected, hold SHIFT when clicking any objects of a layout created from an object library to select all its members

Drag a marquee around object - making sure all vertexes are within the selection.

Polygon tool 15_polygon_16

Allows you to select the points on paths or objects, or type that has been converted to a text outline. Drag around points to select them. Only consecutive points can be selected. The selected points are displayed as filled and not as hollow. If you click on a path, it adds a point.
