To allow concurrent work of editorial and advertisement staff on the same page, create an edition template that will have two page layers, one for editorial and one for advertisement, and lock the advertisement layer with appropriate lock level.
1.On the Editions tab in Fred4, open an appropriate edition template with no pages. 2.On the Edit menu, select Preferences, and then select the Layers tab. 3.In the Default layer list specify the appropriate names for editorial and advertisement layer. Each line refers to one layer. Ensure that the editorial layer is the first in the list. Note: the below example handles one editorial and one advertisement layer. If you work on spreads, and you want that two designers can work simultaneously on the left and right part of the spread, plan two editorial layers per page. To distinguish them, you can add (L) and (R) suffix or use any other string. &s&n &z (L) &s&n &z (R) Ads /A/L 4.Click OK. Note: Details about layer names are available in About layer names. More examples are in Examples of layers implementation. |

The default layer naming scheme is SectionNumber Zone. Example: for the section A, page 1 and the zone South, it results in the layer name A1 South, with no space between the section name and the page number, and with a space delimiting the zone name. You may want to change such naming convention, if required. For example, if you don't use sections, remove &s from the name string. |
