A page includes at least one layer, or up to 16 layers. Think of layers as transparent sheets stacked on top of each other. If a layer doesn’t have objects on it, you can see through it to any objects on layers behind it.

Layers and multiple users

Multiple users can open and edit different layers of the same page, i.e. design the same page concurrently.

Concurrent work of the editorial and advertisement staff

The editorial content and advertisement can be placed on separate layers of the page. Thus, editorial staff can work on the same page at the same time as the advertising staff. While editorial designers are laying down the editorial layers, advertisement staff can import ads onto advertisement layers.

Repurposing content across different editions

A specific layer can be shared between different pages in different editions. In that way you can use layers to handle versions of content and/or advertisement for different regions.
