Fred4 can automatically add a image caption when you draw a image placeholder with the 20_image placeholder_16 tool in the main toolbox, if you enabled the auto-caption personal preference.

Create a picture placeholder with the caption on a page

1.Click the 20_image placeholder_16 tool in the main toolbox, and then, when the pointer changes to cross pointer, drag an area over the page, on the position and with the size you want to dedicate to the image.

2.Release the button when ready.

3.If the auto-caption personal preference is enabled, a menu pops up, prompting you to select on which position you want the caption frame to be drawn.

4.Select the position, and the caption frame is drawn.

5.Scale it at will.

Note

When you drag an image from the navigator, and both the image placeholder and the caption frame are selected, the image caption is automatically pasted in the caption frame.
