Use layer modules to create a visible page baseline grid on the layer level. The grid is applied on all pages sharing that layer.
To display or hide page baseline grid
On the View menu, select Set Module Guides / Baseline Grid.
Set up the page baseline grid on a layer using modules
1. | In Fred4, open a page for editing. |
2. | If a page contains multiple layers, double-click a layer name in the Layers palette, to target the layer. |
3. | On the View menu, ensure that Module Guides/Baseline grid is selected, and then on the Layout menu, click Set Baseline Grid (modules) |
4. | In the Module Height, enter the page baseline grid value. |
5. | Click OK. |
•The baseline grid on the layer level is not needed if you already defined the baseline grid on the master page level. Create one of them, not both. If you create both, the grid on the layer level supersede the grid on the master level. •Bear in mind that you need also to create the typographical baseline (in all formats or styles that will be used on pages with page baseline grid). •Use the baseline grid on layer, to make it appear only on specific page. •No permissions are required to show or hide baseline grid, nor to create it on the layer level. Such method of creating baseline grid may be recommended in cases that page users have to change frequently the amount of the baseline grid. •In the step #4 of the above procedure, the value of Module Height is always read from the master page, and not from the current layer. |
