Move or copy objects to another layer

Move objects to another layer (by menu)

1.On the Pages main tab in Fred4, right-click selected object(s), and then select Move to another layer.

2.In the pop-up menu, select the destination layer.
The current layer is marked in the menu as [current].

Move objects to another layer (by clipboard)

1.Select one or more objects, and then press CTRL+X.

2.On the Layers palette, double-click the target layer, to make it current.

3.Press CTRL+V.

Copy objects to another layer (by clipboard)

1.Select one or more objects on a layer, and then press CTRL+C

2.On the Layers palette, double-click the target layer to make it current

3.Press CTRL+V.

Notes

When moving articles to another layer, ensure that the article is not a jump article, flowing across more than one page. To move jump articles to another layer, first open all its jump layers.

When you copy objects to another layer, the copy may overlap existing objects if they are on the same position.

The standard paste command keeps the original position when moving selection between layers.
