In Fred4 you can print the selected objects only.
To print only selected objects (ad-hoc setting)
1.Open the print dialog as explained in Opening the print dialog box.
2.Click Local Edit, and then on the Output tab under Page section, click Print and then select Only selected objects. Note: this requires that you have permissions to modify printing.
3.Click Print.
Note:
If your system contains a predefined configuration to print selected objects only, then follow the instructions in Printing, using a preset.
If you want to modify a print preset to print selected objects only, begin editing of the print preset as explained in Edit print presets.
More on printing selected objects
In such a print, the output contains the selected object AND all elements on the master page (folio, masthead, etc.). Also, the whole page is printed, with the article placed on the real position on the page. That may cause problems if what you are trying to achieve is to create a PDF of every single article on the page, with its geometry. While it's not a problem to set the paper size to the article's size, on output you will still get a correct-size page, but containing only Fred4's elements from the top left hand corner (i.e. it isn't a page that simply encloses the article).
There are two ways around it:
•Print the article from Ted4 as "laid out", on a PDF printer.
•In Fred4, export the selected element as EPS using Fred4.PageEPSDlg and tick both "Only selected objects" and "Selected objects area only". This will produce an EPS with the bounding box that matches the element's size. Then convert EPS to PDF.
