SYMPTOMS

Fonts are not displayed as expected in Ted4 or Fred4 source panel. For example, you expect to see Helvetica font, but the source panel displays for example Courier.

CAUSE

There may be three causes for this problem:

1.The expected screen font is not installed on the computer where you run Ted4 or Fred4, thus even though your personal preferences are set well, e.g. Use video fonts is enabled, the font cannot be displayed.

2.The expected screen font is not installed correctly on the computer where you run Ted4 or Fred4.

3.The Use video fonts setting is not enabled in the Main preferences for the current user.

RESOLUTION

1.Install the required font on the computer. Install the same font on all GN4 client and server computers.

2.Check if the designated font is listed in the Windows Fonts (Control Panel). If it is, delete it. Close the Control panel, and then reopen it and check again if the designated font is listed in the Windows Fonts. Sometimes several hidden copies are installed, one on top of each other, and every delete removes just one copy. When sure that font is not listed anymore, restart the computer (this is mandatory!) and then reinstall the font.

3.Select Use video font for the current user (Edit > Preferences > Source > Display). Do the same for all other users.
