Layers can be shared between pages of the same or different editions and of the same or different region in the same title and can be edited in Fred4 separately. This allows you to have the same editorial content (images and articles) "linked" to different pages.
For the sharing procedure, see:
Share a layer with a page in another title
Share a layer with a page in another edition of the same title
Share a layer with a page in the same edition
Example
The editorial layer of the page #9 in the current edition is "shared" with the page #15 of the same edition, thus, the editorial contents of these two pages will be identical, while - since ads of the page #9 and of the page #15 are on separate layers, they may be different.
Furthermore, multiple users can work on the design and assembly of the same page - at the same time.
Layers are usually created and assigned when the edition is created. They can also be created and modified using the Page Editor Fred4.
Each page has at least one layer, in addition to the master page.
The contents of the shared layer can be edited by opening any of the shared pages in the Page Editor Fred4. The layers can be shared between in the same or different editions.
It is important to understand that the page elements are NOT duplicated. All of the elements on the layer will appear exactly the same on all pages, both in layout and content.
