In version 1.5 or newer, the Editions main tab in Fred4 supports the modification of existing editions when importing an ad plan.

The page object has a new string attribute to contain an unique identifier of ad plan pages.

You can re-import a new ad plan to modify the same pre-imported pages.

If a page does not exist in the new ad plan, it turns into a logical page, similar behavior for pages created by application (so with no external unique id): importing an external ad plan these pages are modified as logical pages.

Notes

•This won't work with the versions of Beacon earlier than 4, as the exported pages have no GUID.

•You may want to preserve the page workstates on reimporting ads/edition plan. See the Select ads file and import type topic, in the paragraphs that explain the Pages tab of the Beacon XML import dialog box.
