In order to edit page objects, a System Administrator must enable specific permissions for GN4 non-administrator users - and such objects must not be in editing by other users, or not locked by purpose, or because of a crash.
Permissions for editing may be enabled or disabled automatically or manually.
•If a GN4 user opened a page for reading (by choice or forced, i.e. because some other user was editing a page), the objects on that page cannot be modified, disregarding any layers based permissions or on single objects. User cannot change the status of the page unless other user closes the page first. •If user opened a page for viewing by his/hers own choice, the opening status can be changed only by closing and reopening the same page - that time, reopening it for editing. If a page was opened for editing, the objects can be edited, unless they are on a locked layer or they are locked as objects. |
•The permissions on the layer level are effective only if the GN4 user opened the page for editing. In that case, all the unlocked layers are automatically opened for editing. All the locked layers will remain locked. •All the objects on unlocked layers on a page, opened for editing, can be edited, unless they are locked as objects. •Locked layers can be unlocked by a GN4 user if his/hers lock level is equal or higher of the GN4 user who locked them. Layers and objects anyway can be locked by different lock levels. See Lock level. |
•The permissions on the object level are effective only if the GN4 user opened the page for editing and if their layer is unlocked. In that case, all the unlocked objects are automatically set for editing. All the locked objects will remain locked. •Locked objects can be unlocked by a GN4 user if his/hers lock level is equal or higher of the GN4 user who locked objects. See Lock level. |
The permissions on the folder level are effective for the content that is stored in folders where user has not view or read or write access. If you do not have the view or read access, you won't be able to view the content - the page frames may appear empty to you, while they will appear with text to users who have permissions. If you do not have the write access, you won't be able to edit the content - even if nobody else edit it at the moment. |
