The Pages main tab of Fred4 offers a handy feature to resplit an article layout in a single step.

To resplit article layout in headline and body columns at once

Select an article layout containing headline and body frames, and then press and hold SHIFT while pressing the number key 1-9 that corresponds to the number of columns you want to resplit to.

Note

Since 1.4.1572.x, user can choose the action of the numeric keys. The below works only if the selected action is Split.
