Apply runaround on added objects

Build 1501 on 14/Nov/2017  This topic last edited on: 17/Mar/2016, at 16:48

You may want to enable the auto-runaround on all or on some added objects when using the Head and  Body tool or other tools. The runaround allows you to change quickly later the size of those object, without any need to adjust other objects.

This includes more preferences, and by default all are off.

Have in mind that some preferences are interdependent and will work only if also the dependent preference was ticked.

Apply Runaround on All

This applies a dynamic runaround all all objects drawn by the Head and Body tool, if the Apply Dyn Runaround is ticked too.

Apply Runaround Head Only

This applies a dynamic runaround all headline frame drawn by the Head and Body tool, if the Apply Dyn Runaround is ticked too.

Apply Dyn Runaround

This draws the body columns on the practically same Y-position as the headline frame (with just a little shift down to allow the selection), but under the headline. It requires Apply Runaround on All to be ticked.

Enable runaround preferences

On the Split subtab of the Extra tab on the Preferences dialog box, tick the related preferences.

The behavior is explained in see Automate headline resizing in an article layout.

Notes

This functionality uses the variables F_SplitHBRunAround, F_SplitHBRunAroundHead and F_SplitHBRunAroundDyn.

The functionalities are available since 1.6.1950.x.
